US stocks hit a record low on Thursday, but some still are above trend
A day after hitting a record high for U.S. stocks, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 7,000 points, closing at its lowest level since June.
Shares of tech stocks were among the most volatile sectors of the market as investors struggled to make sense of the election results and President-elect Donald Trump’s election-related promises.
The Dow Jones industrial average was last down more than 6,000 on Friday.
The Nasdaq was up nearly 1,000.
The S&P 500 was up 0.3 percent.
The Russell 2000 index was down 0.2 percent.
